Medicine Bundles - Frequently Asked Questions

Image taken from: Turtle Lodge Trading Post

TLC packages come with the option of including a medicine bundle for self-identifying Indigenous clients. The below are our most frequently asked questions.

  1. What are medicine bundles?
    • Medicine bundles are small pouches traditionally used by Indigenous peoples for protection, healing, and spiritual well-being. Each bundle is unique and contains sacred items, such as herbs, stones, or other meaningful objects. These items often reflect cultural or personal significance for the holder
  2. How do clients benefit?
    • For many clients, these bundles foster a sense of identity, belonging, and connection to Indigenous healing traditions. The positive feedback we receive shows that clients are excited about the medicine bundles that come with their Test, Link, Call packages, showing their support in clients’ journeys.
  3. How do medicine bundles fit into traditional healing practices?
    • Medicine bundles are often used alongside smudging, prayer, and ceremonies to restore balance to a person’s physical and spiritual healing. Individuals can carry medicine bundles for ongoing strength and connection to their culture and ancestors.
  4. How are medicine bundles made?
    • The process of making these bundles often involves Elders or community members who hold traditional knowledge. This ensures that the medicine bundles reflects sacred and meaningful practice
  5. Who makes the medicine bundles?
    • We source the medicine bundles provided in the TLC packages from Turtle Lodge Trading Post, a fully Indigenous and women-owned company located in Ontario.
  6. What is inside the medicine bundles?
    • The items included are an abalone shell, herbs, a feather, a wooden tripod, matches, instructions, all within a red carrying pouch. More detailed information on the medicine bundle items can be found here. The feathers in the medicine bundles are ethically sourced and have been steam cleaned.
  7. What should I do if the content of the medicine bundle are damaged or lost?
    • If the contents of the medicine bundles are damaged or lost, please contact STBBI Pathways. The medicine bundles may be replaced.
  8. Where can I get more information about medicine bundles?
    • For more information on medicine bundles, including their cultural significance and where they are sourced, please contact STBBI Pathways. You can also reach out to local Indigenous community centers or Elders for guidance on the use and care of medicine bundles.
